About KMA

As a global provider of manpower, Klaveness Maritime Agency, Inc (KMA) aims to provide world-class service to attract, develop and retain sea-based crew for our customers. Our close ties with Norwegian culture since we started operation in 1984 taught us to value transparency, high level of integrity, trust and honesty in all that we do.

We believe that investing in people is key to operating a sustainable and stable business. We continue to partner with our principals to actively sponsor graduates from maritime schools and institutions throughout the country through cadetship and manpower development programs. We help qualified skilled individuals referred by trusted crew and colleagues by employing them in entry level rating and catering positions in our manned vessels.

Together with our principals we recognize that family oriented programs and activities contribute positively to our relations with crew, their families and communities. Hence, we continue to sponsor crew wives’ programs, participate in fund-raising activities and support initiatives of civic and non-profit organizations. The establishment of Seamen’s Wives Association of Klaveness (SWAK) is one the initiatives we are most proud of, as we were one of the first to form a wives’ association in the late 1980s.

With over 30 years experience in shipping, KMA has gained the reputation of being a nurturing crewing arm of our Principals, for Filipino crew. We are proud to share our 95% retention rate of manpower pool and cut-above employee benefits as testaments to this. The family-oriented culture of Filipinos and high social ideals of Norwegians, have been our guide in advocating long-term commitment and relationship with our employees, sea personnel and their families, whilst looking after the interest of our clients and principals.
